A hard conversation, made a little easier

When a family leaves violence behind, children often have big questions and no words for them. This book gives you a place to start.

It isn't your fault

Children often think they caused a parent to leave. The story tells them, simply and clearly, that they didn't.

You are loved

Even when a parent is gone, the people who stay love them, and that love doesn't change.

You are safe

Written to reassure, without frightening details. It's suitable for reading together at bedtime. Zoe: confirm

Why I wrote it

From one mum to another

I wrote Where's My Daddy? from my own experience of explaining to my son why his dad was gone. I wanted him to know it wasn't his fault, and that he was loved and safe.

The book also includes a bonus poem for parents.
